Atkin Essential D 12s Sitka/Mahogany Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar #4283

The Atkin Essential D 12s is the kind of dreadnought that instantly feels familiar yet fresh in all the right ways. Built around a baked Sitka spruce top and solid mahogany back and sides, it’s got that dry, woody punch that players love in a great vintage guitar. It responds beautifully whether flatpicked or fingerpicked, with a balanced tone that’s full, clear, and alive. Atkin’s attention to detail shines through in every part of this build. The scalloped X-bracing gives the top room to breathe, letting it project with natural warmth and dynamic clarity. The mahogany neck has an easy, comfortable shape that feels broken in from the start, paired with an ebony fingerboard that plays smooth and fast. A shaded top, tortoise binding, and aged nitrocellulose finish give it the look and feel of a well-aged classic. With a 45mm nut and a 25.9" scale, it delivers both traditional power and modern playability. The Essential D 12s isn’t just another dreadnought—it’s a handcrafted instrument that captures the heart of what acoustic tone should be.
