Description

Few acoustic guitars are as instantly recognizable as the Martin D-28, and this gloss dreadnought carries that legacy forward in a way that still feels timeless today. Built with a solid spruce top and East Indian rosewood back and sides, it delivers the classic look players expect with aging toner, antique white binding, and the traditional Style 28 multi-stripe rosette. The full gloss body highlights the natural beauty of the wood while keeping the design clean and unmistakably Martin.

The voice is big, balanced, and powerful in the way only a rosewood dreadnought can be. Forward-shifted GE-scalloped X-bracing allows the top to respond quickly, producing deep bass, strong midrange presence, and ringing high end clarity. Strummed chords feel wide and authoritative, while single notes remain focused and articulate. It is the kind of tone that sits perfectly in bluegrass, country, folk, or studio work where a full acoustic sound is needed.

In the hands, the guitar feels modern and comfortable without losing its traditional character. The GE Modified Low Oval neck with High-Performance taper and 1 3/4 inch nut width gives players room across the fingerboard while maintaining an easy, natural feel. An ebony fingerboard and bridge, bone nut and compensated saddle, and nickel open-gear tuners complete the classic build. Pleked at the factory and housed in a molded hardshell case, the Martin D-28 remains one of the most dependable and iconic dreadnoughts ever built.
